New Clinical Studies Show High Accuracy of Nymox's TobacAlert™
MAYWOOD, NJ (October 1, 2003) Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation (NASDAQ: NYMX)
announced today positive results from clinical studies of its new TobacAlert™
product. TobacAlert™ is an easy to use non-medical home urine test for
environmental tobacco smoke (second hand smoke) exposure that costs $14.99 and
requires no instruments to use. The new double-blind studies showed that
TobacAlert™ measurements compared very favorably with complex, time consuming,
and costly, specialized laboratory mass spectrometric technologies.
"These new studies highlight the vast potential of TobacAlert™,"
said Dr. Michael Munzar of Nymox. "For non-medical use, TobacAlert™ has
many unique advantages. It can tell concerned parents, coaches, teachers,
researchers, and many others just how much tobacco product exposure is present
in an individual. There is far more second hand smoke exposure in the population

The new double-blind studies used samples from adults and children with known
histories of second-hand smoke exposure. The urine samples were independently
tested using the rapid on-site TobacAlert™ and were compared to an expert
research reference laboratory liquid chromatography mass spectrometric (LCMS)
technique. TobacAlert™ results had an exceptionally good agreement with the
much more expensive LCMS laboratory tests. The new studies will be reported
later in greater detail at national meetings and in peer-reviewed scientific
publications.
