In this experimental study, each subject was instructed to take two 500 mg tablets of vitamin C daily for the period of the study. The RDA of vitamin C is up 75 mg/day. The administered dose represents a 13-fold increase over the normal RDA requirement.
CONCLUSIONS: 1000 mg vitamin C intake for 3 days did not interfere with EZ Detect™ results. Patient intake was a 13-fold increase over normal recommended levels.

In this experiment participants ingested ˝ lbs. of rare chopped beef per meal for three days, which is usually more than one person eats per day.
CONCLUSION: Since all sample tested negative, the results show that the EZ Detect™ Fecal Occult Blood Test is not affected by eating excessive amounts of rare meat.

STUDIES ON ELIMINATION OF VEGETABLE PEROXIDASE RESTRICTIONS (INGESTION OF RAW VEGETABLES)
The average weight of each cantaloupe used in the study was 2 lbs (900g). Each subject ingested 1/3 of a cantaloupe per meal for 3 days (300g/day = 30 ml of blood peroxidase activity; normal excretion of blood/day = 2-3 ml). Therefore, at least 10-15 times the normal excreted amount of blood peroxidase was ingested in form of vegetable peroxidase units.
CONCLUSION: The data demonstrates that ingestion of substantial amounts of vegetable peroxidase does not interfere with the performance of the EZ Detect™ Test.

Nurses were instructed to collect stool specimens in plastic containers to be sent to the laboratory. The lab technicians placed stool in a toilet bowl and dropped an EZ Detect™ test tissue to check for occult blood. Any color change was noted and recorded.
CONCLUSION: Forty-four samples were tested from 34 patients with the EZ Detect™ Fecal Occult Blood Test. All of the patients tested were admitted to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of various conditions. No dietary restrictions were imposed on the patients during the test. Twenty-three samples gave positive results for blood in the stool. Diagnoses of the positive 23 patients definitely indicate gastrointestinal pathology confirmed by physician’s work-up and evaluation.
