1. What is the currency used in this machine and the denomination?

A - We can adjust the size and number of coins before shipping

2. What kind of battery does it use?

A - It needs electrical power source, no batteries required.

3. Is recalibration required?

A -  No Calibration needed. The user needs to replace the sensor module. It ships with two sensor modules. Sensor modules are very easy to replace.

4. How many straws does the dispensing tray hold?

A - The Dispensing Tray holds about 100 straws.

5. How many coins can the Coin Operated Breathalyzer hold before it needs to be emptied?

A - The Coin Operated Breathalyzer can hold approximately 500 US Quarters before it needs to be emptied. Other currencies will be similar depending on size of coin.

6. What is the voltage for the Coin Operated Breathalyzer?

A - The voltage is defaulted to 110, it can be programed for 220

7. Which breathalyzer is right for me?

A - Public Places, such as Bars, Pubs, clubs, restaurants, and other public gathering places. The AlcoScan AL-3500 Coin Operated Breathalyzer can be used as a simple "extra money making" device.  You set your price, and watch all the intoxicated people send their money to see how intoxicated they really are!

The Police Force, Health Care Professionals, Military, and other Public disciplinary groups should consider the AlcoTector as the breathalyzer for them.  This is the most accurate of all breathalyzers, and requires no calibration.

For personal/private use, the AlcoHawk Precision, digital breathalyzer, is recommended for its reliability and accuracy. For workplace screening or other uses in a professional setting, we recommend the AlcoHawk PRO, AlcoScan AL-5000 or the AlcoMate Prestige (AL-6000). Although the AlcoScan AL-2500 is very convenient and easy to use, please keep in mind that these devices are meant for simple testing, and the lack of a mouthpiece can affect test results. We DO NOT recommend this product

8. What is the BAC (blood alcohol concentration) limit for driving?

A - The legal limit for BAC while driving varies from state to state across the US, but most states use DUI / DWI limits of 0.08% to 0.10%.

9. Can I drive if my BAC is less than 0.08%?

A - No, we do not recommend driving with any intake of alcohol. There is no "safe" level of drinking before driving.

10. What is calibration/recalibration? Do I need it?

A - Calibration of breathalyzers involves the manual setting of specific, known laboratory BAC samples against the readings
recognized by the device. All breathalyzers require initial calibration and periodic recalibration in order to prevent inaccurate readings as alcohol and other breath contaminants saturate the sensor after prolonged use. The AlcoScan AL-3500 Coin Operated  Breathalyzer DOES NOT require a re-calibration, simply change the sensor module every 500 tests.

11. What type of alcohol sensor is used by the AlcoScan AL-3500 Coin Operated Breathalyzer?

A - The AlcoScan AL-3500 Coin Operated Breathalyzer uses a state-of-the-art oxide semiconductors which are sensitive to the detection of alcohol and resistant to breath contaminants that may affect test results..

12. Cleanup / Maintenance

In order to extend the life of your breathalyzer, we recommend the following steps after each breath test:

• Turn off power.
• Blow fresh air into your device. (If possible, you should inhale fresh air into the device rather than using your breath. If you use your breath, make sure there are no contaminants such as food, drink or smoke.)

13. Important Reminders

The oxide semiconductor sensors used for alcohol detection measure BAC by the buildup of substance on the sensor surface. Because of this, you should avoid the following:

• Wait at least 30 minutes after eating, drinking or smoking before conducting a breath test.
• Some common household products, such as alcohol-based mouthwash, can significantly affect test results. Please allow ample time before testing.
• Some medical conditions, such as diabetes or related internal organ ailments, may affect test results.
