Principle of the test
The One-Step LH Ovulation Predictor Tests are rapid chromatographic immunoassays for the qualitative detection of luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine to aid in the prediction of ovulation. The tests utilize a combination of monoclonal and polyclonal LH antibodies to selectively detect elevated levels of LH. The assays are conducted by applying a urine specimen to the sample area and observing the formation of colored lines. The specimen migrates via capillary action along the membrane to react with the colored conjugate.
Positive specimens react with the specific antibody-LH-colored conjugate to form a dark colored line at the test line region of the membrane. For a positive specimen, the Test will be darker than or equal to the Reference line. A Test line that is lighter in color than the Reference line suggests a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear at the Reference line region if the test has been performed properly.
